Aloha Oahu
Aloha!
On Saturday, my dad and I played 18 holes at Ko Olina Golf Club. Their logo is a ladybug and they are the annual host of the LPGA Lotte Championship. Challenging, but very fun golf course.
We went into town after our round. We had shaved ice at Shimazu before walking around Honolulu, especially Waikiki Beach. We spent some time at the Marriott, having drinks (water for the kids) at Manoa Bar and Grill before a sushi dinner at Sansei.
Today (Sunday), we went up to the North shore. We started at Turtle Beach and made our way up to Turtle Bay, making various pit stops along the way. Our highlights? Seeing a Hawaiian Monk Seal move from the beach (where he was taking a nap) to the ocean at Turtle Bay. See this video below!
We also saw the Pipeline (where Jaws is filmed) and went turtle spotting at Turtle Beach.
Dinner tonight was at Monkey Pod. This was my dish of Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi. (It was really good!)
I am currently on the beautiful Hawaiian island of Oahu. We are having an excellent time, and I wanted to give a short recap of our last two days here. We arrived on Friday around 2 PM (Hawaii time) and spent our afternoon exploring the property before dinner at Longboards.
Oahu from the air:
View from our room at the Ko Olina Beach Villas
Dinner at Longboards, featuring a Pineapple Boat, fried shrimp, a pork quesadilla, onion rings, and some chicken wings. Really delicious!
Beautiful Oahu views. So excited to be here!

Amy's Pun of the Day: "Man, he totally did that on Porpoise!"

We ate lunch at Giovanni's, a famous food truck area on the North Shore, and shaved ice at Matsumoto's (another famous place!). Both were delicious!

I have to read a poem by Alexander Marvell over break called "To His Coy Mistress." I am changing the name, for my intents and purposes, to "To His KOI Mistress." :)
More posts coming soon.
