A Tale of Two Towers (and more geese!)

Wow, what a fantastic day it has been! After a fun day of tours, we are back to the hotel.

Our morning started out at Ok, Bar where we had breakfast. I ordered an omelette and got to eat toast with the cutest little Nutella servings. Needless to say, it was a good breakfast to have for our first of three breakfasts we will enjoy here.

Then, we drove to the beautiful city of Lucca. The town was super cute and charming, making it a fun excursion. While we were there, we rented bikes because the city is famous for its biking terrain. Dad and I rented a tandem bike while mom and nick got their own. It was so much fun to try the tandem- and we were actually fairly successful at it. Great tea building exercise if you are looking for one. Here are some pictures from our adventure in Lucca.

We enjoyed a leisurely bike ride around the town before stopping to get some lunch. We ate at a place called Mara Meo and really enjoyed the sandwiches and drinks we got. Not only did we eat lunch there, but we also had a snack there, which was equally delicious. After lunch, we stopped for gelato. The price was cheap, the gelato was delicious, and the place was really nice. My cone was dark chocolate and caramel (and if you can't tell, I really enjoyed it!)

Dad had to take a business call, so mom, nick, and I explored a tower. We really enjoyed the views. Here are those pictures:
Later, we took our trip to Pisa. I had a feeling that Pisa was going to be a favorite of mine, and it didn't disappoint. Walking in and seeing the tower was super cool, but getting to see how much it ACTUALLY leans was amazing. We actually got to go up the tower thanks to mom's awesome planning. It was so strange to feel our center of gravity change as we went up, and the view was fantastic from the top.

After Pisa, we went back to the hotel. But we stopped at the Ok, Bar again to go have a late night snack (dinner). Great meal again. No pictures of the food, but we did get this goofy one:

QOTD: "Wow, it really leans!" -every tourist ever at the leaning tower of Pisa

Uffizi tomorrow!
