Pompelmo vs Polpetta

Happy Friday! We had a successful day of sightseeing and adventures in Rome.

Breakfast was good this morning! We ate at Bibo Bar for breakfast where we ate some pastries. I thought the scene was really cute, so I got this picture:

Then, we started our morning. The following sights all took place within the span of 2 hours, as we had to get to Villa Borghese. You ready? Here goes:

Those sights were: Campo de Fiori (we bought cherries, nectarines, and mini strawberries), Piazza Navona, Piazza del Popolo, and Santa Maria del Popolo, and a dog that took a bath in a fountain at Santa Maria del Popolo. We hit quite a bit before walking through the Villa Borghese to get to the Galleria Borghese for our 1:00 appointment. It was a super cute museum that had great work in it. We had lots of fun exploring and taking portraits :)

We had plenty of time after to continue exploring Rome. So, we went to the Spanish steps. Apparently we missed the memo that the entire site - including the church AND fountain - were under scaffolding and construction. That was kind of saddening, but I suppose it gives me a reason to return.

On our way back, we also stopped at Giolitti again and saw the inside of the Pantheon! At Giolitti, we got two cones. One had mint and chocolate and the other had chocolate and stracciatella. Van you say "Yummo"!?!? The Pantheon was really neat because of the hole in the ceiling and the general architecture of it all. We discovered that one of the walls has a tribute to the one and only Vittorio Emanuele II. Who knew?

... And, siesta! Let me tell you, it felt great.

Dinner and gelato to finish the night.

QOTD: "I want a Polpetta Cello per favore" -Dad, ordering a meatball cello (like a limoncello)
"Wow, much coffee, good taste." -Mom in doge mode (look it up if confuzzled)

Big day tomorrow!
