Vacationing to a castle on a lake...

A great day in Italy! Today we daytripped to Lake Garda and spent most of our day in the city of Sirmione.

But first, we ate breakfast at the hotel. I enjoyed my first Italian cappuccino as a cultural experience. This is the picture of my drink - strong, but it must be an acquired taste.

Then, we got the car out of the box and drove to Garda. It was beautiful when we got there, and we saw these feathered friends.

We went and explored the town after that. There were lots of picturesque spots that we made use of.
We ate lunch at a cute little cafe with a good view before moving on to the beautiful castle. Lots of cool stuff inside the castle and some of the best views in town. I also found a souvenir before going in there.. Let's play spot the difference!

And, of course, snapped a couple of pictures by the castle before touring around other towns.

We then traveled clockwise along lake Garda and stopped at a couple towns. This was just one that we stopped in because the views were so pretty. Photo credits to my dad for this one:

Dinner was very good as well. We stopped in Malcesine and ate at the Malcesine Hotel. Prompt service, but no WiFi connections. This was the best caprese salad I have eaten in Italy so far because the cheese and basil ratios matched the tomatoes. Yummo!

And we stopped at Castel San Pietro on the way home to get this beautiful view:

Off to Florence tomorrow!
